INTEOS® HAND SYSTEMS

INTEOS® Radius System
INTEOS® Ulna System
INTEOS® Minifragment System

Although the human hand may be comparatively small in relation to the overall human body, they boast a very intricate anatomy of bones, joint and muscles in double figures, fine maze of peripheral neurovascular bundles and tendons even in triple figures.

Connected to even more muscles in the forearm, our hands combine functional strength and precision, allowing them to act as our prime tools, but also as instruments of communication and interaction with the world around us.

Residual functional deficits after hand & wrist injury can seriously adversely affect our independence in daily living, our ability to function at work and ultimately our overall mental wellbeing.

Maintaining and restoring hand function in the minutest detail is the challenge that hand surgeons set themselves.

With our M4 distal radius system, our distal ulna system and our mini system, we can offer them the tools they need to succeed, thanks to a combination of smart technologies, versatile implant designs and a wealth of incorporated experience of some of their most experienced peers.

Treatment options

Fractures of the distal radius are common injuries, the frequency of which is likely to increase with increasing life expectancy. Hofer's current range is in the 4th generation of anatomically pre-shaped, VA-locking plates. You will find solutions of different types for radial and/or intermediate column reduction and fixation, covering both volar and dorsal surgical approaches. There are options for the primary and secondary treatment of fractures of the distal radius, with or without proximal extension in the area of the radial shaft, as well as for osteotomies.

Main features and benefits
Wide range of anatomically pre-shaped plates offering a variety of possible options depending on surgeon preference, fracture morphology and biomechanical requirements as well as patient-specific considerations
Extremely thin plate designs and no - or very little - protrusion of the screw head when fully locked minimize soft tissue irritation or damage
The wide range of iuxta-articular and metaphyseal screw placement options at unrivaled acute angles provides significantly improved joint surface stability

INTEOS® Ulna System

Treatment options

Ulnar column fractures can be addressed by our anatomically contoured, VA-locking ulna plate for primary or secondary treatment of intra- and extraarticular ulnar fractures as well as osteotomies to correct Ulna +/- length discrepancies

Main features and benefits
1 plate shape in left-sided and right-sided versions and different lengths, which can be positioned on the ulnar, dorsal or volar facet of the ulna (shape adjustment possible)
Low-profile plate with modest contact area to minimize soft tissue irritation
Multiple screw options in the metaphyseal plate area increase versatility of use and maximize pull-out strength and overall stability of the construct

INTEOS® Minifragment System

Treatment options

Hofer Medical Solutions set out to design a versatile, yet lean mini-fragment system, indicated for primary and secondary fracture treatment, osteotomies an arthrodeses in the hand and foot.

Main features and benefits
Special tools for safe pre-bending and in-situ bending that make the panel portfolio versatile and adaptable
Minimal panel thicknesses and no - or only minimal - screw protrusion in combination with maneuverable panel footprints contribute to the restoration of unhindered function
Dual Head System in combination with primary and rescue screw variants that can be used in the entire plate portfolio offer the surgeon both flexibility of use and safety
